<div style='text-align:Left;font-size:12pt'><p style='text-align:Justify;margin:0 0 0 0;'><span>The European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) supports, amongst other priorities, Community-led Local Development in coastal areas. This involves delegating funds and decision-making to local partnerships called fisheries Local Action Groups (LAGs). These include representatives of the fisheries sector and other local private and public stakeholders related to the blue economy. </span></p><p><p style='margin:0 0 11 0;'><span style='font-size:12pt'>There are over 300 EMFAF-supported LAGs in Europe. Each designs and implements a local development strategy to address their area´s needs be they economic, social and/or environmental. Based on their strategy, the LAGs select and provide funding to local projects that contribute to local development in their areas.</span></p></div></p> |
