This involves delegating funds and decision-making to local partnerships called fisheries Local Action Groups (LAGs). These include representatives of the fisheries sector and other local private and public stakeholders related to the blue economy. <\/span><\/p><p><p style='margin:0 0 11 0;'><span style='font-size:12pt'>There are over 300 EMFAF-supported LAGs in Europe. Each designs and implements a local development strategy to address their area´s needs be they economic, social and/or environmental. Based on their strategy, the LAGs select and provide funding to local projects that contribute to local development in their areas.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/p>",
